Katy Perry has unveiled her upcoming single, "I'm His, He's Mine," which features rapper and singer Doechii. The announcement came following a live debut of the track during the MTV Video Music Awards on September 11, 2024. The single is expected to drop on September 13, 2024, and will be the third preview from Perry's forthcoming album, "143," set to release on September 20, 2024.

In her social media posts, Perry expressed excitement about the collaboration, sharing a brief teaser of the accompanying music video. This new release follows her earlier tracks, "Woman's World" and "Lifetimes," which are also from the upcoming album.

Perry's career-spanning performance at the MTV VMAs last night included the premiere of "I'm His, He's Mine," and she was honored with the Video Vanguard Award during the ceremony. When speaking about her album earlier this year, Perry stated, "It's a dance party and everyone's invited."

In related news, Perry previously performed three unreleased tracks from "143" during an intimate set at the Evita in Los Angeles. However, the artist's recent activities have not been without controversy, as her label confirmed an ongoing investigation into potential environmental damage related to the music video for "Lifetimes," which reportedly involved unauthorized filming around the Balearic Islands.

Perry's last studio release, "Smile," arrived in 2020 and received mixed reviews, with some critics noting a lack of the energy typically associated with her earlier work.
