Katy Perry has officially announced her upcoming single, "I'm His, He's Mine," featuring rapper and singer Doechii. The announcement was made following Perry's live performance of the track during the MTV Video Music Awards on September 11, 2024. The single is set to be released on September 13, 2024, serving as the third preview of Perry's eagerly awaited album, "143," which is scheduled to launch just a week later on September 20, 2024.

Perry took to her social media platforms to express her enthusiasm surrounding the collaboration with Doechii, as well as to share a teaser of the song's accompanying music video. "I'm His, He's Mine" follows her previously released tracks, "Woman's World" and "Lifetimes," which are also included on the forthcoming album.

During her performance at the VMAs, Perry not only debuted the new single but also received the esteemed Video Vanguard Award. Reflecting on her upcoming album earlier this year, she noted, "It's a dance party and everyone's invited."

In addition to the VMAs performance, Perry has shared three unreleased tracks from "143" in a secretive set at Evita in Los Angeles. However, not all the news surrounding her new album has been positive; recent activities regarding the music video for "Lifetimes" have raised some concerns. Reports indicate that her label is investigating possible environmental damage linked to unauthorized filming in the Balearic Islands.

Perry's last studio album, "Smile," was released in 2020 and received a mixed reception from critics, with comments on its lack of the high energy characteristic of her previous works. For further details on this development, visit NME.
