Kerry King, the renowned guitarist from Slayer, is already in the demo stages of his second solo album, indicating a swift follow-up to his debut record, From Hell I Rise. Speaking at a fan event in Germany earlier this year, King revealed that he has several songs ready and is eager to get back into the studio with drummer Paul Bostaph after their upcoming tour. "A lot of songs for the next record are already in demo phases," he stated. King expressed his desire to complete the follow-up project swiftly, explaining that, at this juncture in his life, he prioritizes getting music out to fans.
Having recently completed an extensive tour in North America with Lamb of God and Mastodon as part of their co-headline 'Ashes Of Leviathan' tour, Kerry King is set to perform with Slayer later this month at a surprise reunion show. Beyond this, King plans upcoming solo performances in Mexico and Australia, contributing to a busy schedule.
In his remarks, King mentioned the potential for a new release strategy, hinting at the possibility of smaller, segmented releases rather than traditional full albums. "Maybe we put out four songs, go on tour. Then another four songs, another tour. I'm not sure," he remarked, considering how the dynamics of music consumption have evolved. This approach contrasts sharply with his traditional view on album releases, showing that King is open to innovate according to public demand.
