Laibach, the influential band from what was once Yugoslavia, is set to release Opus Dei Revisited on December 13, 2024, via Mute Records. This project marks the continuation of their year-long celebration of their iconic 1987 album, Opus Dei. The forthcoming release will be available in both double vinyl and double CD formats.

The original Opus Dei album is renowned for its substantial impact on the industrial music genre and is featured in Robert Dimery's book 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die. With Opus Dei Revisited, Laibach promises a profound reimagining of the original work, including various interpretations. Notably, one of these is their famous rendition of Opus's "Live Is Life" reinterpreted as "Opus Dei".

The project will comprise two distinct versions: the first being a reworking carried out by Laibach during their upcoming Opus Dei Revisited Tour, and the second produced in collaboration with Rico Conning, who worked on the original album. This latter version aims to uncover new sonic dimensions by using the original master tapes, promising fresh perspectives on Laibach's cult classics.

As an appetizer for the upcoming release, a taster track titled "Geburt einer Nation (Rico Conning's Inner Ear RMX 2024)" has already been released, showcasing the innovative remix process being employed for this project.

In addition, Laibach has outlined a comprehensive European tour scheduled from September 2024 to early March 2025, with stops in cities including Portoro, Budapest, Prague, and London, among others. Ticketing details and event information are available on Laibach's official website and Mute Records.

Opus Dei Revisited exemplifies Laibach's commitment to artistic evolution, intertwining their historical legacy with contemporary musical exploration.
