Linkin Park made a notable appearance on NBC's The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon last night, performing their new single "The Emptiness Machine." This track is the first release from their upcoming album From Zero, which is scheduled to drop on November 15. This marks the band's first album since releasing One More Light in May 2017 and is also significant as it will be their first project following the tragic passing of frontman Chester Bennington in July 2017 and the departure of drummer Rob Bourdon.

In a shift from their original lineup, Linkin Park now features Dead Sara's Emily Armstrong as the lead vocalist and Colin Brittain on drums. Their revitalized lineup debuted with a livestream event on September 5, where they not only presented the new single but also details regarding their upcoming album and a six-date world tour.

Following this comeback, guitarist Brad Delson shared that he would be stepping back from live performances for the foreseeable future but will remain involved in the creative aspects of the band. His onstage role will be filled by Alex Feder.

Linkin Park's return has not gone without its share of controversy. Just after her introduction, Armstrong faced scrutiny when allegations concerning her connections to the Church of Scientology and support for convicted rapist Danny Masterson surfaced. Armstrong addressed the Masterson issue through her social media but chose not to comment on the other allegations.

The band's upcoming tour dates include stops in Hamburg, London, Seoul, and Bogota. As they continue forward, fans are eager to see how the band will evolve musically and perform in the wake of their significant changes. For fans eager to catch their performance on The Tonight Show, the full clip can be found here.
