Lone Justice, the influential Los Angeles country-punk band, is set to return with the announcement of their forthcoming album titled 'Viva Lone Justice.' This marks their first full-length record since the release of 'Shelter' back in 1986. The anticipation surrounding the new project has resonated deeply with fans, particularly as it will include previously unreleased material originally recorded by vocalist Maria McKee as demos for her 1992 solo album, 'You Gotta Sin To Get Saved.'

The decision to revisit these archived recordings was inspired by the passing of drummer Don Heffington in 2021. Musician Marvin Etzioni proposed the idea to McKee, prompting her to welcome former bandmate Ryan Hedgecock into the fold to help refine and complete these demos under the Lone Justice name.

'Viva Lone Justice' is expected to showcase a broad range of musical styles, melding country stomp with folk influences and will include a cover of The Undertones’ classic song 'Teenage Kicks.' This dynamic energy aims to reflect the band's original artistic vision while also exploring new musical territories beyond their LA punk and rockabilly roots.

Lone Justice is renowned for their electrifying live performances, particularly driven by McKee's distinctive vocals. Over the years, they have collaborated with legendary artists, including Bob Dylan, and have toured alongside major acts such as U2 and Tom Petty. Despite facing challenges in achieving widespread commercial success, the band has preserved a lasting legacy, further highlighted by their inclusion in a Country Music Hall of Fame exhibit celebrating the rich musical heritage of Los Angeles.

While details involving live performances are still not confirmed, Etzioni hinted at the possibility of further releases, stating, "I might have some other tapes that could turn into another Lone Justice album." This encourages fans to keep an eye out for future updates.

Fans eager to experience new music from Lone Justice can pre-order 'Viva Lone Justice' here. The album is also featured in the latest issue of Uncut.
