Lone Justice, the influential Los Angeles country-punk band, has officially announced their forthcoming album titled 'Viva Lone Justice.' This will be the band's first full-length record since 'Shelter,' which was released in 1986. The excitement surrounding the new project has resonated deeply with fans, especially as it will feature previously unreleased material that was originally recorded by vocalist Maria McKee as demos for her 1992 solo album, 'You Gotta Sin To Get Saved.'

The decision to revisit these archived recordings stemmed from the passing of drummer Don Heffington in 2021. Musician Marvin Etzioni was instrumental in proposing the idea to McKee, which led her to welcome former bandmate Ryan Hedgecock into the project to help refine and complete these demos under the Lone Justice name.

'Viva Lone Justice' is anticipated to showcase a diverse range of musical styles, blending country stomp with folk influences, and will include a cover of The Undertones’ classic song 'Teenage Kicks.' The album aims to echo the band's original sonic vision while delving into new musical territories that go beyond their LA punk and rockabilly roots.

Lone Justice is known for their electrifying live performances, with McKee's distinctive vocals as a key highlight. The band has a storied history, having collaborated with iconic artists like Bob Dylan, and touring alongside major acts such as U2 and Tom Petty. Despite facing obstacles in achieving widespread commercial acclaim, they have forged a lasting legacy, recently being honored in a Country Music Hall of Fame exhibit that celebrates the musical heritage of Los Angeles.

While specific details regarding live performances haven't been confirmed, Etzioni hinted at the possibility of future releases, indicating, "I might have some other tapes that could turn into another Lone Justice album." This leaves fans with a reason to stay tuned for more updates.

Eager fans can pre-order 'Viva Lone Justice' here. The album is also featured in the latest issue of Uncut.
