As Friday the 13th approaches, several prominent hip-hop artists are making waves with fresh music releases. Detroit's own Babyface Ray is set to drop his fourth studio album, The Kid That Did, featuring an extensive 20 tracks that include collaborations with heavyweights like Fabolous, Hunxho, and G Herbo. Two standout singles from the album are "Count Money" featuring Bossman Dlow and "Wavy Navy University" with Veeze. This release follows Ray's previous album, Summer's Mine, which was launched earlier in 2023.
In another exciting development, Jay Worthy joins forces with MadeinTYO for their first joint LP, titled Time After Time. The album, entirely produced by MadeinTYO, promises to blend jazz influences with hip-hop elements. Leading singles include "Nino" and "Master Delux". This release adds to Worthy's already notable discography, marking his seventh studio album, while it is the fourth for MadeinTYO.
Additionally, renowned artist Talib Kweli is collaborating with his frequent producer, J. Rawls, on the upcoming album The Confidence of Knowing. Ahead of the album's premiere, they have introduced tracks such as "Breath, Eyes, Memory" and "Native Sons," the latter serving as a tribute to the influential hip-hop collective Native Tongues. This ten-track LP features contributions from artists like IDK and Coast Contra, embracing Kweli's characteristic socially conscious themes.
These new releases illustrate each artist’s distinctive style and reflect their commitment to pushing the boundaries of hip-hop. Additional new music to anticipate this week includes releases from Eminem, Nicki Minaj, Terrace Martin, and Shakewell.
