A selection of electric guitars associated with Britpop legends Oasis has recently seen their values soar at a Sotheby’s auction, coinciding with the band's highly anticipated reunion announcement. This marks the first joint performance of the Gallagher brothers, Noel and Liam, since their fallout at the Rock en Seine festival in Paris back in 2009.

Among the auction highlights was Noel Gallagher's iconic Epiphone Les Paul guitar, famously featured in the music video for "Supersonic." It sold for an astonishing $173,500, surpassing its upper estimate of $100,000, positioning the Epiphone as potentially the priciest of its kind ever sold at auction. Notably, Gallagher likely purchased the instrument for just a few hundred pounds years prior.

Other significant sales included Gallagher’s Epiphone EA-250, fetching around $63,077, and a Flying V guitar previously owned by Johnny Marr, which sold for approximately $47,291. Guitar World‘s Chris Gill commented on the cultural significance of the Les Paul, highlighting its critical role during the formative sessions that shaped Oasis’s iconic sound.
