Michael Andrews Audio Visual Services is actively looking for a highly organized individual to take on the role of Theatrical Lighting Engineer. This position is essential for their rapidly growing Production department, which is integral in supporting large-scale events for many of the world's foremost corporations.

As the Lighting Engineer, your responsibilities will include acting as the lighting designer for these grand events while occasionally fulfilling the role of a lighting engineer on-site depending on specific needs. In addition, you will manage lighting inventory by closely collaborating with the Shop Manager and Lighting Department Head, ensuring that the equipment is well-maintained and updated.

A key aspect of this role will involve identifying strategic lighting purchases to enhance the existing inventory and expand the company’s lighting services offered to clients. An important responsibility will also include the evaluation of lighting equipment that is outdated or no longer useful, contributing to the overall efficiency of the department.

Further, team development is a significant component of this job. You will be working with department heads to implement training programs for both in-house staff and freelance employees, enhancing the skill level within the team.

The successful candidate will primarily be based in South Hackensack and will travel to event sites as needed. It’s crucial for applicants to pass local and national background checks, as well as substance testing, before being considered for the position.
