Pale Waves have unveiled their latest single, "Thinking About You," which serves as a preview to their upcoming album, "Smitten." The album is set to release on September 27th and is the culmination of two years of creativity for the Manchester-based group.
The new track exemplifies the band's dedication to honest songwriting. Lead singer Heather Baron-Gracie describes "Thinking About You" as an emotional exploration of the lingering feelings that accompany a past relationship. In her words, the song narrates a situation where someone departs, leaving one caught between cherishing memories and pushing forward. Baron-Gracie admits,
"It’s about a situation when someone leaves and you can't quite fully move on yet. You know you should and that it'll be better for you in the long run, but it's harder and more painful than it seems."
Musically, the single is a tender blend of goth-pop elements, showcasing the band's Northern roots. The reflective lyrics and melodic sound work in harmony, making it a resonant addition to their discography.
"Thinking About You" is now available for streaming and purchase. Fans are encouraged to stay tuned for more updates leading up to the release of "Smitten."
