North London-based Americana trio Red Sky July will release their fourth studio album, titled Misty Morning, in February 2025, marking their first album release in eight years. The band, which formed 15 years ago, saw significant changes during this extended hiatus. After the departure of fiddle player Charity Hair, who returned to the United States prior to the pandemic, singer Haley Glennie-Smith was welcomed into the fold. Glennie-Smith, known for her contributions to soundtracks and as a solo vocalist for Planet Earth in Concert, rekindled her connection with band members Shelly Poole and Ally McErlaine when she unexpectedly discovered she was living just ten minutes away from them in North London.

This upcoming album follows two previous projects that the group scrapped—one before the pandemic and another during lockdowns—before finally embracing new creative directions. Poole emphasized the decision to forgo any previous limits, allowing the band to innovate and explore instrumentation beyond traditional folk and Americana styles. Elements such as delays and electronic drones feature prominently, resulting in a cinematic sound that differentiates their latest work from past recordings.

The title track, "Misty Morning," is released as the lead single and showcases the band’s fresh musical direction since Glennie-Smith’s joining. The song features rich textures and harmonies that evoke a warm and inviting pastoral landscape, further enhanced by the duo's new sonic experimentation.

Listeners can already experience "Misty Morning," which, according to the band, encapsulates the essence of their journey through change and creativity.
