REO Speedwagon has announced they will cease touring after the end of 2024 due to irreconcilable differences between frontman Kevin Cronin and bassist Bruce Hall. The band made this announcement shortly after completing their 'Summer Road Trip' tour with Train, where Hall was replaced by session musician Matt Bissonette while he recovered from back surgery.

In a public statement, the band expressed their disappointment, noting that Hall had hoped to return to touring by this time, but a consensus determined he had not fully recovered. "Bruce never had any intention of retiring or walking away from the band, fans, and crew he has loved for almost 50 years," the statement read.

Hall conveyed his disappointment on social media, stating he never thought it would end this way. He emphasized his eagerness to continue touring with the band prior to his surgery. "We all deserved a farewell tour," he remarked, affirming his commitment to REO Speedwagon.

Cronin also shared his sentiments, reflecting on the experiences of the 'Summer Road Trip', highlighting the strong camaraderie developed between the bands involved. He remarked significantly on the emotional connections made throughout the tour and the love shared among fans and fellow musicians.

The band's last show took place on September 8, 2024, at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, CA, and subsequent performances were canceled due to Cronin's health issues. Remaining shows for the year include a scheduled performance at the Rancho Mirage Agua Caliente Casino on September 27. Visit Ticketmaster for tickets to final shows.

This decision marks a significant moment in the band's history, sparking an emotional farewell from both the members and their loyal fanbase, who have supported the group throughout their career.
