Jeonghan, a member of the acclaimed K-pop group SEVENTEEN, is slated to begin his mandatory military service on September 26, 2023. This announcement was confirmed by Pledis Entertainment, the group's management agency, via a statement released on the fan community platform Weverse on September 12.

Jeonghan will be the first member of SEVENTEEN to undertake military duty, a requirement for male citizens in South Korea. Consequently, he will not partake in promotional activities associated with SEVENTEEN's upcoming mini-album or their 2024 'Right Here' world tour. However, Pledis Entertainment has assured fans that Jeonghan will appear in several pre-recorded segments scheduled prior to his enlistment. The agency has requested fans to avoid visiting the enlistment site and has encouraged them to continue their support for Jeonghan during his service.

This announcement follows SEVENTEEN’s recent accolade of Best Group at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs), held in New York, which highlights the group's rising status within the K-pop scene. Jeonghan concluded his live performances with an enthusiastic appearance at Lollapalooza Berlin, expressing his eagerness to create unforgettable memories with their fanbase, known as Carats.
