The Cure has recently confirmed the title of their upcoming album, Songs Of A Lost World, which will be their first studio release in 16 years. Earlier this week, a poster advertising the album was displayed at The Railway Inn in Crawley, England, a location of historical significance as it hosted the band's inaugural performance in 1978. Fans quickly took notice of the framed poster, shared by Aaron Law on X/Twitter, and flocked to the pub after hearing of its arrival on September 12.

As noted, a fan meet-up was planned for September 14, further demonstrating the excitement surrounding the album release. The Cure has also engaged their audience via postcards sent out to fans—these postcards appear to confirm both the album’s title and its anticipated release date of November 1.

On September 9, the band teased their new album by updating their social media profiles with a fresh logo against a black background, leading many to speculate about forthcoming music. In addition to the album announcements, guitarist Reeves Gabrels has directed fans to a newly redesigned website, encouraging them to join the mailing list for updates.

The music community can also look forward to the release of two live recordings from The Cure, out as a double A-side 12" Eco-Vinyl single titled The Cure Novembre: Live in France 2022. This release will benefit the climate charity Earth Percent, featuring the live tracks And Nothing Is Forever and I Can Never Say Goodbye, recorded during the band's Shows Of A Lost World tour.

The buzz around The Cure’s return is palpable, and fans are eager to see what their long-awaited new material will sound like after such an extensive hiatus following 2008's 4:13 Dream. There are high expectations for the album as it embodies not just new music, but a return to roots in the very place where it all began. More details can be found at NME.
