The Cure has officially announced their upcoming album titled Songs Of A Lost World, marking the band's first studio release in 16 years. The anticipation surrounding this announcement escalated earlier this week when a poster featuring the album title was prominently displayed at The Railway Inn in Crawley, England. This venue holds historical significance for the band, as it was the site of their debut performance back in 1978. Following the unveiling, fans flocked to the pub to celebrate the news after Aaron Law tweeted an image of the framed album poster on September 12.

In addition to the poster reveal, a fan meet-up is scheduled for September 14, underscoring the excitement surrounding the new album. The Cure has also connected with their fanbase through personalized postcards confirming both the album title and its release date of November 1.

On September 9, the band stirred speculation with an update to their social media profiles, which featured a new logo against a stark black background. Guitarist Reeves Gabrels further encouraged fans to explore their newly refurbished website, inviting them to subscribe to a mailing list for album updates.

In the lead-up to the new release, fans can look forward to The Cure Novembre: Live in France 2022, a double A-side 12" Eco-Vinyl single showcasing live recordings of And Nothing Is Forever and I Can Never Say Goodbye. This release, recorded during the band's Shows Of A Lost World tour, will also benefit the climate charity Earth Percent.

As fans eagerly await new material, many reflect on the long hiatus since their last studio album, 2008's 4:13 Dream. The upcoming album is expected to resonate deeply with listeners, serving as a significant return to their roots. More details can be found at NME.
