East Anglian rock band The Darkness has officially announced the release of their new album, Dreams On Toast, set for March 2024. This album serves as the follow-up to their previous effort, Motorheart, released in 2021. Frontman Justin Hawkins described the recording process as inspired, attributing a divine motivation to their creativity.

Hawkins stated, "You know that thing when God's breath tickles your soul and tells you to create? Yeah, makes me giggle too. But you can't resist. God might not be the power she once was, but say what you like about her, she knows damn well that what the world needs now, is rock, sweet rock."

Alongside the album announcement, The Darkness has released a new single titled The Longest Kiss. The track showcases a piano-led sound reminiscent of Queen, with Hawkins referencing the picturesque scenery in Nairn, a Scottish highland town, as the inspiration behind the lyrics. In Hawkins's words, he and his brother fondly derived the chorus after an endurance challenge at a local pub.

To celebrate the album's release, The Darkness will embark on a UK tour starting March 7, 2024, in Ipswich and concluding at London's Wembley Arena on March 29, with Ash supporting. Tour dates include venues in Oxford, Swansea, Liverpool, and Newcastle among others. Fans eager to secure tickets can pre-order Dreams On Toast from the band's official store to access an exclusive pre-sale starting September 25, with general tickets available on September 27.

For those looking forward to the upcoming rock celebration, the tour promises to be an unforgettable experience.
