Victoria De Angelis, the bassist of Italian rock band Mneskin, recently shared insights into her new solo endeavor following the release of her debut single titled 'GET UP BITCH! (Shake Ya Ass)', which features Brazilian artist Anitta. De Angelis discussed this transition in a recent interview with NME, emphasizing her shift from rock to a more dance-oriented sound.

The track, released on September 3, showcases De Angelis' exploration of dance music, blending elements of techno and baile funk. In her discussion about the collaboration with Anitta, De Angelis recounted how she simply sent the demo to the megastar and was delighted when Anitta returned with her contribution just one week later. She described the experience of receiving the track while on a plane, highlighting her excitement and admiration for Anitta.

Expressing her passion for electronic music, De Angelis acknowledged that club culture has always been a significant part of her life. Although predominantly known for her role in Mneskin, she has been DJing informally for some time and now eagerly embraces this opportunity to dive deeper into that scene.

When questioned about Mneskin’s future, she promptly dispelled rumors of a breakup within the band, stating that they recently completed a successful tour and are simply enjoying a temporary break. She reassured fans that the band is far from finished, hinting that she and frontman Damiano David each have solo projects in the pipeline, with David’s venture set for release on September 27.

De Angelis also performed alongside Halsey at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards shortly after the discussions, showcasing her evolving career. Mneskin's last album, 'Rush', was released in 2023, following their stunning win at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2021 with their hit 'Zitti E Buoni'.

Fans can look forward to more dance tracks from De Angelis and continued activity from Mneskin in the future.
