The newly formed band, The None, is generating buzz in the UK music scene with their unique approach to collaboration and songwriting. Comprised of members from established acts like Cassels, Frauds, Youth Man, and Young Legionnaire/Bloc Party, this collective is shedding the typical supergroup label, focusing instead on musical freedom and creative expression.

Bassist Gordon Moakes expressed a desire to return to music after his move back to the UK, which initiated the group's formation. Following Moakes' outreach to guitarist Jim Beck and drummer Chris Francombe, the band began to take shape. They eventually recruited vocalist Kaila Whyte, whose presence ignited the chemistry needed to complete the project.

"It's just been so easy," stated Francombe, emphasizing the group's collaborative spirit. Each member brings their strengths to the table without stepping on each other's toes, fostering an environment conducive to creativity. With a focus on serving the music rather than individual egos, they are preparing to release their debut EP, "MATTER," on August 29.

The None have already delighted audiences with a couple of live shows, receiving praise for their energetic performances. Notable upcoming events include a headline slot at London’s Victoria and participation at the Supersonic Festival in Birmingham alongside renowned acts like Melt Banana. Additionally, they have secured support slots with Canadian post-punk band Metz, marking an early milestone in their burgeoning career.

For fans interested in exploring the sounds of The None, their latest singles are available for streaming, and tickets for their upcoming shows can be found through various outlets. This innovative group is set to carve out their own niche in the music landscape, offering a fresh take on noise rock and an exciting collaborative spirit that defies traditional norms.
