The Smiths' Mike Joyce launches crowdfunder for permanent mural of Andy Rourke
A crowdfunding campaign has been launched by Mike Joyce, the drummer of The Smiths, to create a permanent mural honoring the late bassist Andy Rourke, who passed away from pancreatic cancer. The initiative not only aims to honor Rourke's legacy in their hometown of Manchester but also to raise funds for the Pancreatic Cancer Action charity. As of now, over 3,500 has been raised with the campaign targeting 15,500 and is expected to culminate in a mural unveiling in November. Additionally, there have been discussions concerning unreleased compilations related to The Smiths.
