Robin Guy, the renowned drummer celebrated for his contributions to iconic rock bands including Rachel Stamp, Sham 69, and All About Eve, passed away on September 8, 2024, after a six-year battle with cancer. His death was announced by his wife, Jessica Rushton, on his Facebook page, where she expressed her devastation and encouraged friends and fans to share their fond memories of him. "This is the hardest thing I will ever have to write. With absolute devastation I have to announce the passing of the brightest star, Robin, after a 6 year battle with cancer," Rushton wrote.

The music community has responded with an outpouring of tributes. Julianne Regan, lead singer of All About Eve, shared her condolences: "Gone, but what an impression he made. It was such a privilege to have known him." Music journalist Simon Price commented on Guy's electric performances, noting that his dynamic energy often elevated every show. Professor Marcus Smith, who collaborated with Guy on the Clem Burke Drumming Project, described him as a "fantastic person" and expressed the profound impact he had on those around him.

In response to the financial strain created by funeral expenses, a GoFundMe campaign has been established to support Rushton. Guy's enduring legacy of musical talent and his warm spirit are set to be cherished by all who had the privilege to know him. For more on this story, visit the Louder article.
