Victoria De Angelis, the bassist for the Italian rock band Mneskin, has embarked on a solo career with the release of her debut single, "GET UP BITCH! (Shake Ya Ass)," featuring Brazilian singer Anitta. The single was released on September 3, 2023, showcasing a departure from Mneskin's traditional rock sound in favor of a vibrant, dance-driven style that incorporates techno and baile funk elements.

In her latest interview with NME, De Angelis described the collaboration with Anitta as serendipitous. After sending a demo to the BRazilian pop icon, she received feedback within a week, an experience she found exhilarating.

Known primarily as a rock bassist, De Angelis has expressed a longtime passion for dance music and has emphasized the importance of club culture in her life. Despite being synonymous with Mneskin, she has explored informal DJing prior to this release, and is eager to delve deeper into the electronic music scene.

Addressing the future of Mneskin amidst her solo pursuits, De Angelis confirmed that the band is not breaking up. Following a successful tour, they are currently on a brief hiatus. Both she and lead singer Damiano David are developing individual projects, with David set to release new music on September 27.

In addition to her solo endeavors, De Angelis performed with Halsey during the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards, reflecting her growing presence in the music industry. Mneskin's last album, "Rush," was issued in 2023, coming after their victory at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2021 with the acclaimed song "Zitti E Buoni."

Listeners can look forward to more dance tracks from De Angelis in the future while Mneskin remains active, with the band members also working on separate projects.
