Yannis Philippakis, the frontman of Foals, releases his debut solo EP under the name Yannis & The Yaw, titled 'Lagos Paris London.' The EP features the late drummer Tony Allen, a key figure in the Afrobeat genre. The project encapsulates themes of mortality and meaningful collaboration, which Philippakis reflects on amidst the backdrop of the unfinished sessions with Allen. The release showcases a blend of catchy melodies and striking lyrics, highlighted in tracks like 'Walk Through Fire' and 'Rain Can't Reach Us.' The EP is released through Transgressive Records and is available on various formats. Yannis & The Yaw will also embark on a tour across Europe, engaging listeners with their compelling music.
