Andy Bell, known for his work with the band RIDE, has announced a joint project with producer Timothy Clerkin, head of Insult to Injury label. Their collaborative album, titled "Alliance," is set to launch on November 8, 2023, featuring seven tracks. The album's first single, "Empyrean," is available now for streaming.

The partnership emerges from their previous interaction during the creation of the "Dissident Remixed" album in 2019, where Clerkin's remix of Bell's composition left a significant impression. Their chemistry was solidified during Bell and Clerkin's meeting at the funeral of influential figure Andrew Weatherall, whose musical legacy heavily shaped their collaborative work.

Clerkin describes their synergy, noting that nothing was off limits in the creative process. "It's a proper collaboration, where we both tried new things and nothing was off limits," said Clerkin.

As for "Empyrean," the single boasts a mix of sounds reminiscent of Boards of Canada and Aphex Twin. Bell reveals that this track is essentially a remix created by Clerkin from an initial demo he had sent.

An exclusive, limited-edition white vinyl of the album will also be sold via BandCamp and select record shops. To purchase or stream "Empyrean," click here.
