Boston University’s College of Fine Arts, specifically the School of Music, is seeking to hire an experienced conductor, teacher, and performer for the position of Assistant Professor and Conductor for the Boston University Wind Ensemble. The appointment is anticipated to start on July 1, 2025. Candidates must demonstrate excellent conducting and teaching skills in Wind Ensemble repertoire, alongside a background in orchestral repertoire. Key responsibilities include promoting the Boston University Wind Ensemble's national profile, mentoring graduate students in Wind Conducting, assisting with the Boston University Orchestras, providing advanced conducting study for undergraduates, and coaching wind and brass chamber music. The ideal candidate should have substantial experience in collegiate-conservatory teaching and a strong national profile, as well as collaborative skills to work effectively with faculty and staff. An advanced degree in music is preferred, but significant professional experience may be considered.
