Linkin Park's guitarist Brad Delson has confirmed that he will not be joining the band on their upcoming short world tour, slated to kick off on September 11, 2024. Delson announced his decision in an Instagram post on September 6, stating that while he will continue to work with the band behind the scenes, he has chosen to step back from live performances.
The news comes following Linkin Park's recent announcement of their comeback via a livestream event, where they introduced new members Emily Armstrong, formerly of Dead Sara, and drummer Colin Brittain. During the event, the band premiered a new song titled 'The Emptiness Machine' and also confirmed their new album, 'From Zero', marking the first new music since the death of lead vocalist Chester Bennington in 2017.
In his statement, Delson expressed his gratitude for fans’ support and praised the talents and passions of Armstrong and Brittain. He indicated a preference for working with the band in the studio and behind the scenes rather than on stage.
Additionally, Delson announced that guitarist Alex Feder, who debuted during the recent livestream event, will take over his role during the tour. "I am super excited to introduce Alex—my handsome deputy on the road. Alex is a world-class musician and a kind friend," he remarked.
The tour will span six shows across major cities, including Los Angeles, New York, Hamburg, London, Seoul, and Bogota. Linkin Park’s lineup changes have sparked some controversy, particularly regarding Armstrong's association with past allegations involving Scientology and former actor Danny Masterson.
Tickets for the tour are available for purchase through the official Linkin Park website. The full tour dates are as follows:
