Bruce Springsteen's latest documentary, Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen And The E Street Band, premiered at the Roy Thomson Hall during the Toronto International Film Festival on September 8, 2024. Directed by Variety, the film captures the rock icon's recent world tour, showcasing not only the electrifying performances but also intimate backstage moments.

During a Q&A session following the premiere, Springsteen expressed his ongoing passion for performing, stating, "If I went tomorrow, it's OK... what a fucking ride!" He emphasized that he has no plans for a farewell tour, countering speculation about his retirement. In a previous interview, Springsteen asserted, "We've been around for 50 fuckin' years, and we ain't quitting! We ain't doing no farewell tour bullshit!" These statements underline his dedication to continue performing and creating music with his band, the E Street Band.

A significant component of the documentary is the personal struggle of Springsteen's wife and bandmate, Patti Scialfa, who reveals her diagnosis of multiple myeloma, a form of blood cancer, which forced her to reduce her touring schedule. Scialfa reflected on her health, stating, "Every once in a while, I come to a show or two and I can sing a few songs on stage, and that's been a treat. That's the new normal for me right now, and I'm OK with that."

Road Diary is set to be available for streaming on Hulu and Disney+ starting October 25. As the renowned musician continues to evolve with his music, his legacy only appears to grow stronger. Meanwhile, Jeremy Allen White is gearing up for his portrayal of Springsteen in an upcoming biopic titled Deliver Me From Nowhere, stating that the legendary rocker has been supportive of the project and accessible throughout the preparation process.
