The Courteeners have unveiled the title track from their forthcoming album, Pink Cactus Caf, which is set for release on October 25 through Ignition Records. Frontman Liam Fray discussed the album's collaborative process in a recent interview with NME, highlighting the band's shift towards embracing partnerships, collaborating with artists such as DMA's, Pixey, and The Coral's James and Ian Skelly.

This new single follows the release of Solitude Of The Night Bus in July, which had previously set an upbeat tone for the album. Fray described the new title track as having a "dreamlike" quality, indicative of a fresh creative direction for the band. The album expands on the themes established in 2020's More. Again. Forever., pushing boundaries while still being deeply rooted in Manchester's musical landscape.

Fray elaborated on the metaphorical significance of the album title, suggesting that the 'Pink Cactus Caf' represents a personal sanctuary, a retreat from external pressures. “It’s a place where you feel you can be yourself,” he stated.

The album introduces tracks that blend influences from various genres, with echoes of HAIM's style in tracks like Weekend Shy Of A Feeling. Even amidst their nostalgic roots, such as in Bitten By Unseen Teeth, the Courteeners are eager to explore new musical landscapes.

As for live performances, Courteeners will be touring the UK in November, with dates including stops in Glasgow, Manchester, and London. Fans can expect a mix of classic hits along with fresh material from the new album. For ticket information visit here.

In addition to the album, speculation rises about the possibility of a Courteeners appearance alongside Oasis in Heaton Park next summer, adding excitement to their impending return.
