Erased Tapes has officially launched its latest edition of the "Rewinder" series, shining a spotlight on the collaborative works of notable artists from 2012. Central to this retrospective are Michael Price, Ólafur Arnalds, and Nils Frahm. Their spontaneous weekend recording sessions resulted in the unique album "Stare," which showcased diverse musical characteristics influenced by their locations in Berlin and Iceland. In a statement, Arnalds recounts the creative process: "We didn't have anything specific in mind, we just wanted to hang out, jam and eat some falafel... somehow we also made 25 minutes of ambient bliss that weekend."

In addition to their reflections on "Stare," the series will revisit Price’s "A Stillness," which emerged from a chance recording session involving string players in 2012. Price describes the experience as "a magical oasis of breathing and listening" that laid the groundwork for an evolving musical language shared with Robert Raths, founder of Erased Tapes.

This nostalgic exploration continues with insights from various contributors. In the "Side by Side" series, recent signee Sheherazaad pens an essay expressing admiration for Anne Müller’s album "Heliopause." Additionally, Bell Orchestre member Richard Reed Parry articulates his thoughts on Lubomyr Melnyk's "Corollaries." Through these reflections, Erased Tapes aims to not only celebrate significant past releases but also foster ongoing dialogues about artistic influences and collaborations within the contemporary music landscape. More information on the revisited projects can be found at Erased Tapes.
