As the ominous date of Friday the 13th approaches, the hip-hop scene is brimming with excitement over new releases from acclaimed artists. Detroit's Babyface Ray is set to unveil his fourth studio album, The Kid That Did, which contains an impressive collection of 20 tracks. This album features collaborations with notable artists, including Fabolous, Hunxho, and G Herbo. Among the standout singles are 'Count Money,' featuring Bossman Dlow, and 'Wavy Navy University,' spotlighting Veeze. This new work follows Ray's previous release, Summer's Mine, which debuted earlier in 2023.

In another significant announcement, hip-hop artists Jay Worthy and MadeinTYO are joining forces to release their first joint LP titled Time After Time. This collaborative project is entirely produced by MadeinTYO, emphasizing a fusion of jazz influences with hip-hop sensibilities. Key singles from the album include 'Nino' and 'Master Delux,' showcasing both artists' evolution within the genre.

Additionally, renowned artist Talib Kweli is teaming up with frequent collaborator J. Rawls for their upcoming album The Confidence of Knowing. The duo has already released tracks such as 'Breath, Eyes, Memory' and a tribute to the Native Tongues collective, 'Native Sons.' This ten-track LP features contributions from artists like IDK and Coast Contra, continuing Kweli's legacy of socially conscious lyricism.

This diverse array of upcoming music illustrates the unique styles of each artist and their commitment to the evolution of hip-hop. Fans should also be on the lookout for new music this week from industry heavyweights Eminem, Nicki Minaj, Terrace Martin, and Shakewell.
