Fontaines D.C. have publicly expressed their frustration following the announcement of Britpop legends Oasis's highly anticipated reunion and world tour slated for 2025. The iconic band's return is set to cover various sold-out stadiums in major cities, including Cardiff, Manchester, London, Edinburgh, and Dublin. Reports indicate that the initial 14 tour dates sold out rapidly, leading to the addition of more shows in London, planned for September 2025.

In an interview featured on Studio Brussel, band members Conor Deegan III and Carlos O'Connell shared their thoughts regarding the wave of nostalgia that Oasis's reunion has sparked. O'Connell stated bluntly, "I couldn't really give a shit, to be honest," highlighting a growing concern with the music industry's ongoing preoccupation with invoking past eras. Deegan supported this sentiment, suggesting that the nostalgia surrounding legacy acts hinders their own creative expression and ambitions.

Fontaines D.C., recognized for their breakthrough album "Dogrel," have since unveiled a new work titled "Romance," which they assert underscores their commitment to creative evolution. The band members reiterated their preference for modern sounds over being categorized within nostalgia-driven trends.

Moreover, Fontaines D.C. are gearing up for a busy performance schedule this year, including a headline tour throughout the UK and Ireland. One of the key highlights will be their concert at London's Finsbury Park in July 2025, featuring support from Amyl And The Sniffers and Kneecap. This lineup reinforces their dedication to a continually evolving artistic identity and counters the nostalgia they critique.
