In a recent interview aired on Studio Brussel, members of Fontaines D.C. voiced their frustrations regarding the announced reunion and world tour of the legendary Britpop group, Oasis, which is set for 2025. The reunion is highlighted by expected performances in numerous sold-out stadiums across cities like Cardiff, Manchester, London, Edinburgh, and Dublin. Following a swift sell-out of initial ticket sales for the first 14 tour dates, additional shows in London have been added for September 2025.

Conor Deegan III and Carlos O'Connell of Fontaines D.C. expressed notable concern about the nostalgia that the Oasis reunion seems to evoke. O'Connell candidly stated, "I couldn't really give a shit, to be honest," reflecting a growing fatigue about the industry's fixation on past musical eras. Deegan backed this sentiment, suggesting that an overwhelming focus on legacy acts may hinder the creative expression of newer artists like themselves.

The Dublin-based band, Fontaines D.C., who earned acclaim with their debut album "Dogrel," also recently introduced their new project titled "Romance." This release underscores their commitment to artistic growth and navigation towards contemporary musical directions that stand apart from the nostalgia they critique.

Looking ahead, Fontaines D.C. has a busy performance schedule in 2025, including a notable concert at London's Finsbury Park in July, featuring support from Amyl And The Sniffers and Kneecap. This lineup further emphasizes the band’s dedication to fostering a vibrant musical identity that actively challenges prevailing nostalgia.
