On August 23, 2024, New York City-based band GIFT released their sophomore album, 'Illuminator.' This new record reflects a vibrant blend of various genres and showcases advanced pop production techniques. Vocalist and guitarist TJ Freda shared insights about the album's creation, revealing that just a year prior, the band was still busy refining their musical ideas and lyrics.

Freda remarked, "Our second album, 'Illuminator,' is out today. It's surreal to think that just a year ago, we were still reworking song structures and writing lyrics for almost every track on 'Illuminator.' Today, it's no longer just ours—it's yours."

The album, which features a sleek and often danceable sound, is described by Freda as a narrative on the complexity of time: maintaining a balance between living in the moment and anticipating the future. Regarding the title, Freda elaborated that 'Illuminator' embodies themes of light—both physical and metaphorical.

He emphasized, "The word itself means something or someone that illuminates, that concentrates or reflects light. It's a state of being. We aimed to create something raw and honest. This album is a true reflection of who we are, in this very moment."

Fans can listen to 'Illuminator' and purchase their copy on special Light Blue/Black Dot Vinyl through various outlets, including GIFT's official page here. For further details about the band and their music, visit the Captured Tracks website.
