Welsh band CVC has released their latest single, "The Lowrider (Just About Meant To Be)," which combines elements of G-Funk with their signature indie sound. Following their impressive debut album "Get Real," released in 2023, CVC continues to showcase their creativity and ambition.
The new track features a distinctive G-Funk bass line paired with punchy, disco-infused guitar riffs reminiscent of Nile Rodgers’ work. Described as a dreamy hymn to love and romance, the song relates the experience of two individuals in perfect harmony. Co-songwriter and vocalist Dave Bassey shared insight on the inspiration behind the track. He mentions that it was crafted after a lengthy session at their local pub, The City Arms in Cardiff, and explores the nuances of a long-distance relationship. "'The Lowrider' was about my long-distance lover and how we are 'just about meant to be'," Bassey explained.
The creative process led to the decision to name the track "The Lowrider" due to its West Coast flavor, with hopes of potentially collaborating with Snoop Dogg in the future, adding further excitement to this new release.
