Park Avenue United Methodist Church, located at 106 E. 86th Street in New York, NY, is currently seeking a motivated and creative Interim Music Director. This part-time position is set to last until January 2025, with options for extension. The Interim Music Director will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standard of worship music in collaboration with the church's Pastor(s), choir members, and staff.
The chosen candidate will not only supervise the choir and music selection for Sunday services but also oversee various special service music, including Christmas Eve and Easter. Ideal candidates should possess exceptional skills as a pianist or organist and be well-versed in traditional church music styles as well as classical and global genres.
In addition to music direction, the position includes responsibilities such as music supply budget management and liaising with church leadership on choir maintenance and music needs. Compensation is based on experience and will be discussed during the hiring process.
