Linkin Park made a significant television appearance last night, September 17, on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, as they performed 'The Emptiness Machine', marking the song’s live television debut. This performance comes just weeks after the track was released as the lead single from their upcoming album, From Zero, which is slated for release on November 15.

The band features new frontwoman Emily Armstrong, formerly of Dead Sara, who joins Linkin Park in this fresh chapter following the death of lead singer Chester Bennington in 2017. During their recent concert in Los Angeles, band member Mike Shinoda addressed the audience about the new lineup, emphasizing that the changes are not an erasure of the band's past. This performance at Fallon follows their inaugural reunion show and has sparked a mix of emotions among fans.

The ambiance of the television performance was typical of Linkin Park's high-energy style, with the band illuminated by strobe lights backed by a dramatic stage setup.

After the performance, Linkin Park is scheduled to perform next at The O2 in London on September 24. Meanwhile, drummer Colin Brittain has stepped in for founding member Rob Bourdon, while guitarist Brad Delson remains involved behind the scenes but is absent from live performances.

The response to Armstrong joining the band has generated heated discussion among fans and the wider music community, particularly relating to her past associations and the public's sense of loyalty to the band's legacy. Support for Armstrong has come from various corners, including approval from Bennington’s widow, Talinda. As the band forges ahead, Shinoda stated, "We feel really empowered with this new lineup and the vibrant, energized new music we've made together."
