South London's Moreish Idols are set to release their latest single, "Pale Blue Dot," on October 1st via Speedy Wunderground. This single marks the label's 50th release, which coincides with a special event at London's Shacklewell Arms on September 30th, featuring performances from both Disgusting Sisters and alumni from Speedy Wunderground.

Following their acclaimed EPs, "Float and Lock Eyes" and "Collide," Moreish Idols have established a distinct sound within the thriving London music scene. Their new release showcases a shift in their artistic direction, melding intricate acoustic instrumentation with layered vocal harmonies. The band's approach resonates with a blend of energetic post-punk influences while also embracing a more nuanced sound.

In a statement about the new track, the band expressed that "Pale Blue Dot" has evolved through various iterations. Initially a simple drum machine and guitar demo, the song ultimately transformed into a reflection of spontaneity and organic creation, led by Dan Carey. The result is a distilled version of their original concept, revealing an authentic sound that remains true to the band’s identity.

The upcoming performance on September 30th not only serves as a celebration of their new music but also honors the rich back catalog of Speedy Wunderground, which has seen contributions from artists like black midi and Kae Tempest. Tickets for the release party are currently available for purchase.

With more live dates scheduled throughout the fall, including appearances at Hassocks Festival and Left of the Dial Festival in the Netherlands, Moreish Idols are poised to continue their ascent in the music industry, introducing fans to new music and live experiences.
