As Friday the 13th approaches, several prominent hip-hop artists are making waves with fresh music releases. Detroit’s own Babyface Ray drops his fourth studio album, The Kid That Did, featuring 20 tracks that include collaborations with Fabolous, Hunxho, and G Herbo. Two standout singles from the album are "Count Money" featuring Bossman Dlow and "Wavy Navy University" with Veeze. This release follows Ray's previous album, Summer's Mine, from 2023.

In a notable collaboration, Jay Worthy and MadeinTYO have teamed up for their first joint LP, titled Time After Time. The album, entirely produced by MadeinTYO, infuses jazz influences into hip-hop. The leading singles from the release are "Nino" and "Master Delux". This marks Worthy's seventh studio album and MadeinTYO's fourth.

Additionally, renowned artist Talib Kweli collaborates with his frequent producer J. Rawls for the upcoming album The Confidence of Knowing. Ahead of the album's premiere, they introduced tracks such as "Breath, Eyes, Memory" and "Native Sons," the latter paying tribute to the hip-hop collective Native Tongues. The ten-track LP boasts contributions from artists like IDK and Coast Contra, showcasing Kweli's socially conscious style.

These new releases not only highlight each artist’s distinctive style but also their commitment to pushing the boundaries of hip-hop. Other new music to look for this week includes releases from Eminem, Nicki Minaj, Terrace Martin, and Shakewell.

Stay tuned to explore these records and the fresh sounds dominating the rap scene in September 2024.
