The electronic music scene has recently welcomed a fresh voice with the debut EP 'Transcendence' from Montreal-based artist No Police. Released on August 29, 2024, through the Berlin-based label PARA//E/, the EP showcases an eclectic blend of techno, trance, acid, and breaks that is already capturing the attention of industry heavyweights. No Police, known for her dynamic production style, uses the EP as a medium for expressing deeply personal narratives, intricately woven through the beats and rhythms of each track.

The first track, 'Big Mac Dreamz', serves as a reflection of No Police's personal battles and creative catharsis, offering a darker soundscape that starkly contrasts with the more uplifting tracks like '12AM' and 'Reflections'. In an exclusive interview, she emphasized that music became her form of release during her most challenging times, allowing her to channel confusion into creativity. The transformative journey culminates in her ability to convey hope and renewal through her sound.

Since its release, '12AM' has received support from prominent figures in the electronic music scene, including KI/KI, Hyperaktivist, and Cryptofauna. Notably, KI/KI's recent sets at The Lot Radio and a show in Montreal featured '12AM', eliciting excitement from No Police who described it as a dream come true. The track stands out on the EP as a significant marker of her rising influence in the industry.

In a platform often dominated by male producers, No Police also discussed the unique challenges she faces as a female artist. She shared insights on navigating the music landscape, emphasizing the importance of staying true to oneself, building supportive networks, and creating one's own opportunities. Her willingness to break barriers illustrates the evolving narrative within the electronic music community and highlights her dedication to fostering an inclusive atmosphere.

Rooted in Montreal's vibrant music scene, No Police infuses her productions with various influences. From classic rock and punk to disco and electronic, her diverse upbringing has shaped her musical identity. This background, paired with mentorship from experienced producers, has allowed her to explore and blend musical styles cohesively.

As No Police continues to make her mark, 'Transcendence' not only represents her artistic debut but also signals a new era within electronic music that embraces personal storytelling and innovative soundscapes. The EP is available for purchase on Bandcamp here.
