Juan Atkins is set to release a new EP titled Parallel Shift under his iconic project Cybotron. This three-track EP, co-produced with Laurens von Oswald, is scheduled for release on November 1st, 2024, via Tresor Records. The EP features a futuristic and sci-fi-inspired aesthetic that continues to highlight Atkins' innovative spirit in the electronic music scene.

Following the release of Maintain The Golden Ratio last October—the first new music from Cybotron in 28 years—Parallel Shift marks another significant entry in Atkins’ revered catalog. Cybotron, which he initially formed with Richard Davis, saw Atkins depart after their 1983 album Enter to focus on his other project, Model 500. Davis continued to release music as a solo artist until 1995. The duo regrouped in 2019 for live performances, introducing a lineup that includes Atkins, von Oswald, and Tameko Williams, known as DJ Maaco from Detroit In Effect.

The tracklist for Parallel Shift includes the following compositions:

  1. Parallel Shift
  2. Earth
  3. Earth - Edit (Digital Bonus)

Listeners can look forward to experiencing these tracks on the upcoming EP while exploring the label's rich history of electronic music. Tresor has been a longstanding cornerstone in the techno genre, reflecting the innovative spirit that Atkins embodies. For more details on the release and Atkins' work, visit Tresor's official site.
