The Pet Shop Boys have unveiled plans for a special expanded edition of their most recent studio album titled 'Nonetheless', set to be released on November 22. The announcement follows the duo's headline performance at the BBC Radio 2 in the Park festival in Preston, which wrapped up the three-day event.
The 'Nonetheless Expanded Edition' will provide fans with a host of new content, particularly four bonus tracks along with demo versions of all the album's songs. Among the bonus tracks are fresh interpretations of notable songs such as David Bowie's 'All the Young Dudes' and the classic soul track 'The Dark End of the Street'. Furthermore, the album features two compositions originally recorded during the sessions for 'Nonetheless': an adaptation of 'Miserere' by Gregorio Allegri and a Pet Shop Boys original titled 'Adrenaline.'
All tracks in the expanded edition were produced by James Ford, with orchestral arrangements for the cover tracks provided by Anne Dudley. The demos were recorded and produced by the Pet Shop Boys between 2020 and 2022, mixed by Pete Gleadall. This edition is available for pre-order in multiple formats, including triple black vinyl, double CD set, and digital download.
The duo's fifteenth studio album, 'Nonetheless', which debuted in April, reached number two on the UK album chart in its first week—a milestone as its highest-charting studio album since 1993. The full tracklist for the expanded edition includes:
