Alex Van Halen has released a snippet of 'Unfinished', the last song he recorded with his late brother Edward Van Halen. This recording will appear in the audiobook version of Alex's upcoming memoir titled 'Brothers', slated for publication on October 22, 2023, via HarperCollins.

The memoir is characterized as an 'intimate and open account' detailing the profound bond between the Van Halen brothers. It is co-written with New Yorker writer Ariel Levy and aims to be more than just a typical rock-and-roll memoir; it is depicted as a 'love letter' to Edward. Alex describes their shared experiences, from immigrating to the United States and their economic struggles to their monumental success in rock music and personal challenges surrounding fame and family.

In his reflections, Alex shared, "We shared a depth of understanding that most people can only hope to achieve in a lifetime." He also emphasized that the book would aim to clarify narratives surrounding Edward's life and death. The memoir promises insight into the world of music through the lens of brotherhood.

Wolfgang Van Halen, Edward's son, responded positively to his uncle's announcement by posting several heart emojis on Instagram. 'Brothers' is positioned as 'the definitive take on Edward Van Halen's life and death from the one who knew and loved him best.' Interestingly, while 'Unfinished' marks the end of an era, it additionally represents a significant new chapter in the Van Halen legacy.
