An unreleased album by the late electronic music pioneer Klaus Schulze, titled 101, MILKY WAY, is set to be released on November 15 through SPV Recordings. The announcement comes as part of a renewed collaboration between the label and Schulze’s family, following the musician's passing in 2022.
The project has its origins in 2008, when Schulze was approached by a German film production company interested in a score for a documentary on computer hackers. Although ultimately only short segments were utilized for the documentary, the creative process led to the development of a full album, which is now being unveiled in its entirety.
In support of the announcement, SPV Recordings has released a teaser video showcasing some of the music from 101, MILKY WAY. The album will be available in several formats, including a 2LP gatefold edition featuring black 180g vinyl, a CD edition in a digipak, as well as streaming and download options.
