Razorlight have unveiled their latest single, "Zombie Love," which serves as the third release from their forthcoming album, "Planet Nowhere." The track showcases a vibrant indie spirit, characterized by its catchy melodies and jangly guitar riffs. Frontman Johnny Borrell's lyrics explore the complexities of a tumultuous romantic relationship, sharing lines such as, "You're not the only cowgirl that I ever went down on / But you're the only love I had to walk out on."
In a press release, Borrell emphasized the significance of this single, citing it as the first collaboration with drummer Andy Burrows since their reunion. "Zombie Love" was influenced by a variety of artists, with Borrell stating he aimed to blend styles reminiscent of Outkast, Beck's "Midnite Vultures," and The Pixies.
Furthermore, this upcoming record marks Razorlight's first album featuring their classic lineup since 2008, which includes Borrell, guitarist Bjorn Agren, drummer Andy Burrows, and bassist Carl Dalemo. Borrell reflected on the creative process, admitting surprise at the band's resurgence and expressing hope that fans would embrace this new material.
"Planet Nowhere" is set for release on October 25, and fans can pre-order the album here. In support of this project, Razorlight is planning an intimate tour, with ticket details available here. The dates include sold-out shows in venues across the UK, leading up to a final performance at O2 Academy Brixton, scheduled for November 21.
