Australian band RVG has unveiled their latest digital single, "Don't Take It Badly," coinciding with their upcoming UK tour dates. This latest release showcases the band's signature jangle-pop sound infused with themes of personal introspection and societal change. Described as possibly their most jangle-pop offering yet, the track floats over reverb-laden arpeggios, evoking the vibes reminiscent of 1980s new wave rock, particularly harking back to classics associated with bands like Echo & the Bunnymen.
In a notable addition, RVG also included a cover of The Ramones' "Pet Sematary" as a B-side. Their rendition reimagines the iconic original with a darker, brooding twist while maintaining its underlying driving energy. Fans of the band, who have previously enjoyed covers of Björk and John Cale, can expect RVG's signature approach and unique identity to shine through their take on this classic.
The new single follows their critically acclaimed albums "Feral" and "Brain Worms," with the latter making it onto the list of top albums of 2023. RVG will embark on their UK tour starting next week, with stops in London, Bristol, and Glasgow. Here are the confirmed tour dates:
- August 28: The Lexington, London
- August 29: Crofters Rights, Bristol
- August 30: End Of The Road, Lamer Tree Gardens
- September 2: The Hug & Pint, Glasgow
- September 3: Brudenell Social Club, Leeds
