The Cure has officially launched a secret website and WhatsApp channel to promote their forthcoming album, titled 'Songs Of A Lost World', scheduled for release on November 1, 2024. This marks the band's first studio album since 2008's '4:13 Dream'. The band has been actively engaging its fan base, recently distributing postcards that unveil the album title and release date, alongside erecting a 'Songs Of A Lost World' poster at The Hawth pub in Crawley, where they performed their inaugural gig.

To access the newly created website, fans can navigate to www.songsofalost.world and input the album release date in Roman numerals: I. XI. MMXXIV. Upon entry, visitors are greeted with what appears to be new artwork — a decaying statue — and are prompted to sign up for a mailing list and join The Cure’s WhatsApp community.

Initial interactions on the WhatsApp channel yield snippets from the new song 'Alone', including the lyric: "This is the end of every song that we sing, where did it go?" Fans are anticipated to exchange further updates and possibly new music via these communication outlets.

Additionally, The Cure is set to release a double A-side live recording titled 'The Cure: Novembre: Live in France 2022' to benefit the climate charity 'Earth Percent'. This release will comprise two live tracks, 'And Nothing Is Forever' and 'I Can Never Say Goodbye', captured during the French leg of their 'Shows Of A Lost World' tour. The live recordings are positioned as pivotal content as anticipation builds for 'Songs Of A Lost World'.

The upcoming album has been described by the band's keyboardist, Roger O'Donnell, as the most intense and emotional project they have tackled to date. Robert Smith, the band’s frontman, has shared how his recent personal losses have influenced the lyrical content, asserting that the material on this new record reflects a darker, more profound perspective than his previous works.
