Victoria Canal has announced the upcoming release of her debut album, 'Slowly, It Dawns,' which is scheduled to drop on January 17, 2024. The album marks a significant milestone for Canal, who has made waves with her earlier singles that showcase emotionally resonant lyricism intertwined with captivating melodies.

Describing the album, Canal mentions her intent to present her "full, undiluted self." In a statement, she emphasized honesty and unapologetic self-expression, encompassing all aspects of her identity – be it wholesome, sexy, loud, or quiet. Over a period of three years, Canal penned the album's tracks while traveling between London and Los Angeles. The title reflects a journey of growth, suggesting that despite life's complexities, there is a note of hard-earned optimism. She poetically shares, "Life does feel like the sun rising... everything's a little hazy and confusing" as one navigates through life's phases.

Accompanying the album announcement is her new single, 'Cake,' which encapsulates themes of escapism and the struggle of facing adult responsibilities. The song explores the tension between the joy of late-night adventures and the looming responsibilities of everyday life. Canal’s talent for relatability shines through, as she portrays the bittersweet experience of wanting to linger in an enchanting moment while confronting the encroaching darkness of reality.

The album's tracklist includes:

  1. June Baby
  2. Talk
  3. California Sober
  4. Cake
  5. 15%
  6. Vauxhall
  7. How Can I Be A Person?
  8. Totally Fucking Fine
  9. Hollow
  10. Barely
  11. Black Swan
  12. Swan Song

With her debut approaching, fans can expect Victoria Canal to further cement her place in the music landscape. For more updates and to listen to ‘Cake,’ visit Clash Music.
