Victoria De Angelis, the bassist of the Italian rock band Mneskin, has officially stepped into her solo career with the release of her debut single, "GET UP BITCH! (Shake Ya Ass)," featuring Brazilian superstar Anitta. The single, which dropped on September 3, represents a significant shift for De Angelis as she moves from Mneskin's rock roots into a more dance-oriented sound, incorporating elements from techno and baile funk.

In a recent interview with NME, De Angelis shared insights into her transition to this new genre. Her collaboration with Anitta began when she sent a demo of the track to the Brazilian artist, who promptly responded with her contribution just one week later. De Angelis recounted the excitement of receiving Anitta's part while aboard a flight, noting her admiration for the artist.

Dance music has always resonated with De Angelis, and she acknowledged that club culture has been an integral part of her life. While she is widely recognized for her role in Mneskin, De Angelis has engaged in informal DJing prior to this release, eagerly anticipating diving deeper into the electronic music scene.

Amid her solo endeavors, De Angelis also addressed rumors regarding Mneskin’s status, clarifying that the band is not breaking up. They recently concluded a successful tour and are simply taking a brief pause. She hinted at future projects from both herself and Mneskin's frontman, Damiano David, whose solo work is slated for release on September 27.

Furthermore, De Angelis shared the stage with Halsey at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards, signaling the ongoing evolution of her career. Mneskin's last album, "Rush," was released in 2023 and followed their notable win at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2021 with their hit "Zitti E Buoni."

Fans can expect more dance-oriented tracks from De Angelis, alongside continued activity from Mneskin where her bandmates are also preparing their projects.
