Jennie from BLACKPINK has officially signed a solo deal with Columbia Records, in a strategic partnership with her own label, Oddatelier. This collaboration marks a pivotal moment in her career, as she prepares to release a new single expected by October 2024.

Jennie, born in South Korea, rose to prominence as a member of BLACKPINK, which was formed in 2016 under YG Entertainment. The group has become one of the world's most recognized music acts, setting records as the first Korean female group to amass five music videos with over a billion views each on YouTube. In addition, BLACKPINK holds the title as the most-followed girl group on Spotify and is the highest-charting female Korean act on the Billboard charts. Moreover, they made history as the only South Korean act to headline Coachella.

In addition to her music career, Jennie has ventured into acting. She recently starred in the HBO series "The Idol" alongside notable stars Lily-Rose Depp and The Weeknd, and contributed to the track "One of the Girls" for the show's soundtrack. In past interviews, including one with Dua Lipa, Jennie expressed her dedication to ensuring her acting is authentic and aligned with her personal vision. Her first acting role was approached with patience, highlighting her commitment to her craft.

Fans can look forward to Jennie's upcoming single, which promises to further showcase her artistry beyond the BLACKPINK brand. More details on this project are expected as her release date approaches. For further updates, you can view the original announcement here.
