BLACKPINK's Jennie has officially announced her signing with Columbia Records, marking a new chapter in her solo career. The announcement came on September 9, 2024, alongside the launch of her own company, Odd Atelier. Jennie is set to release new music this October, which will be her first single since the release of 'You & Me' in October 2023.

As she joins Columbia, a subsidiary of Sony Music Entertainment, Jennie aligns herself with a roster of prominent artists including Beyoncé, Adele, and Harry Styles. Since her last solo outing, Jennie has collaborated with various artists such as Matt Champion from Brockhampton on 'Slow Motion' in March and Zico on 'SPOT!' in April of this year. Additionally, she teased an unreleased track on TikTok in June, showcasing her engagement with fans and promotion of products like the latest Beats by Dre earphones.

Jennie's announcement follows a trend among BLACKPINK members, as she becomes the second member to pursue new solo projects independently after the group's decision not to re-sign with YG Entertainment. Bandmate Lisa, who also established her own company called LLOUD, has already released two singles: 'Rockstar' in June and 'New Woman,' featuring Rosalía, in August.

In related news, Lisa is confirmed to perform at the upcoming 2024 VMAs, scheduled for September 11, alongside artists like Halsey and Lenny Kravitz. As Jennie embarks on her new journey with Columbia Records, all eyes will be on her upcoming release and the future of BLACKPINK's solo endeavors.
